My Illustration Process
Project Questionnaire
Fill out my Project Questionnaire Form so I can learn about your goals, visions and inspiration. You've probably thought long and hard about this already and I want your project to be everything you imagined! Once I receive all the info I need to deliver an awesome project, I'll follow up with a proposal and estimate.
Proposal
You'll receive an illustration or design proposal that outlines the details of you project that you can easily sign via e-mail. Then once I receive your 50% deposit, we can begin work.
Mood Boards
I'll create custom mood boards with examples of various illustration and design styles for your project. then we'll set up a meeting to discuss the art direction that will work for your project.
Rough Sketches
Combining your goals, the avenue in which you'd like to deliver it, and the target audience I'll start to ideate various concepts for your design. With your help I'll select the most effective sketch and begin to create a tight composition that will be close to the final design. One that will most effectively provide a solution to your goals and strategy.
Digital Composition
I'll continue refining my hand rendered images until completely satisfied with layout, composition, and line quality. Then everything will get carefully scanned and digitized. I work in both raster and vector to precisely reveal the best work for the design. It's not uncommon for this to be the longest portion of the process as hand illustrations are morphed into a high quality final file.
Final Presentation
Your artwork is provided to you in an online or in person presentation that shows my illustration process from conception to final deliverables. Every design decision made will be explained to demonstrate how they will best serve your aspirations for the final design. Once final payment is received all files and rights will be available for transfer in a variety of download schema.
